To Whom It May Concern
This organization is formally registered in the State of California, USA under their 501-C regulation (http://www.infitt.org). We have been in good standing in their records since its inception in 2001 and we contribute to the society constantly as per the law states. We are primarily a worldwide organiztion thriving to promote Tamil language and information technology by uniting all the like-minded researchers and scholars around the world, including India, Singapore, Srilanka, Malaysia, Europe, USA and Canada.
We have members all around the world constantly contributing to this common cause. We have so far conducted sixteen conferences around the world, including India, Malaysia, Singapore, United States, Germany and Canada in various Universities. With this genuine effort, we have formed a strong community of researchers and scholars who thrive to take the language of Tamil to the next generation by helping the common people to use the state of the art technology as and when it occurs.
With the efforts of many hard working researchers and scholars we are proud to inform that the Tamil scholars constantly use Tamil font in computers and handheld devices and they have developed many promising software including many databases of Tamil literature in electronic form. In this sense, it may not be an overstatement to mention that our efforts for the past twenty years have brought fame and respect to this organization worldwide under the banners of “INFITT” and “Tamil Internet Conference”.
The reason I write this mail is to bring to your kind attention that there have been some mischievous attempts recently to misuse and take advantage our efforts and fame to gain monetary benefits in an unlawful manner. A group of people around the world attempt to mislead everyone by misusing our acronym INFITT and our conference name called “Tamil Internet Conference”. Particularly, they are attempting to conduct a conference under this name in October 27th to 29th, 2017 in Toronto, Canada and trying to bring people from Srilanka and other parts of the countries to Canada by sending invitation letters to attend this conference.
To your kind information, we would like to mention that we successfully conducted our 16th Tamil Internet Conference in Toronto, Canada between August 25th and 27th, and our next conference will only be held next year in India. They are also misusing our domain name http://www.infitt.org with a similar sounding name as http://www.infitt.ca, which we don’t authorize in any respect. As you can see, this is completely an illegal act and this, in no way, can be encouraged.
We would very much like you to kindly be aware of this illegal and unlawful effort and avoid encouraging them in any way. Thank you for your kind attention and we sincerely hope that you would take necessary action to avoid these miscreants from taking any advantages from your office. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
